Dockers North
About This Spot
Stepping into Dockers North, you’re greeted by a comfortably spacious dining room that hums with the quiet rhythms of a local gathering spot. The air carries a familiar warmth, the kind that invites you to settle in without rush, whether you’re here to cheer on a Bears game at the large bar or catch up with familiar faces over a leisurely brunch. There’s an easygoing tempo to the place — neither hurried nor sluggish — that encourages you to savor the moment, be it with a cocktail in hand or good company at your side.
The atmosphere reveals its character in small, heartening details: groups of longtime friends sharing laughter, families making their Sunday buffet an event, and neighbors drawn by the subtle charms of the space. It’s a neighborhood spot where community threads quietly weave through midweek lunches and weekend gatherings alike.
When it comes to the food, Dockers North keeps things satisfying without fuss. The kitchen’s offerings range from robust steaks and classic pizzas to thoughtful takes on American comfort fare, each plate carrying a hint of homey familiarity. Whether you’re sipping a morning mimosa or digging into a hearty chicken melt sandwich, the flavors feel grounded—perfectly matched to the welcoming tone of the room. The additions of cozy soups and inventive cocktails speak to a menu designed for sharing good times rather than racing through a meal.
Here, the service complements the calm spirit of the place: attentive yet unpretentious, like being looked after by a trusted friend. It’s easy to see why locals often return not just for the food but the quiet human moments that unfold—random encounters, shared smiles, and the kind of genuine warmth that turns a restaurant into a familiar corner of the community.

Great food, but Not Sure For a Quick Lunch We were driving down 173 the other day, saw their sign and tried them out for lunch. You enter into a fairly large dining room with many tables. To the left is a large bar. There was one other couple and two groups of 6-8 seniors having lunch. We later saw that the seniors were bridge players and started playing cards after lunch. Only one server/hostess was working and she worked hard. She took our drink order, ice water for me and fresh brewed Iced Tea ($3.00) for my wife. We then took to studying the expansive menu. It is just like the menu at Dockers down in Fox Lake. You name it, they have it. We see our server refilling drinks for the other diners, bringing out some appetizers, etc. and finally taking our food order. We were in no rush and just sat and talked. Then we saw our server bringing meals out to people that were there way before we got there. Not a good sign as there was another large group still to get their meals in front of us. Our drinks got refilled and we sat some more. Our food finally arrived after an easy half hour, maybe longer. She did explain that it was only her and the cook so that's what took so long. The meals were worth the wait. My wife had the Dockers Style Marinated Chicken Plate ($15.99) with fresh fruit. A warm pita was topped with a juicy and tasty Greek seasoned chicken with a side Greek salad and several slices of fresh fruit. I had the Grecian Salad with Chicken ($15.99). Prior to bringing out our meals, our server asked if I like anchovies on my Greek salad - I sure do and she loaded me up. The salad was composed of plenty of the usual Greek salad ingredients and a very tasty dressing. This could easily be shared. Our meals were excellent, fresh and flavorful! Everything we saw go by looked delicious and we would go back again if we were in the area, just not if we're pressed for time.

Me and my daughter Anna were there unfortunately for a funeral for a lifelong childhood friend Janell Bean. It was sad but nice, REALLY nice to see her mom Jamie Bean and especially her little sister(Anna's BFF in childhood)Taylor Bean! The service was spectacular and the food was great! It was great to see faces that have moved and ones we've really missed!!
